Yard Attendant

Full-Time | Outdoor, Hands-On Role | Training Provided

About the Role

We’re looking for a reliable, hard‑working Yard Attendant to support daily yard operations and keep vehicles moving smoothly through the auction process. If you enjoy active work, being outdoors, and working around cars, this is a great opportunity to build automotive, detailing, and equipment‑operation skills with a company that invests in your growth.

What You’ll Do

• Check in incoming vehicles and record all required information with accuracy
• Clean, wash, and detail vehicles to improve appearance and auction value
• Take clear photos of vehicles using a mobile device or camera
• Retrieve keys, plates, and other items and store them in the correct locations
• Assist visitors and tow operators by providing directions and support
• Remove plates, wash vehicles, and keep the yard clean and organized
• Monitor yard activity and help maintain a safe, compliant environment
• Move vehicles around the facility and participate in drive‑through auctions
• Receive training to operate forklifts/loaders to support yard operations
• Perform light vehicle maintenance tasks as directed
• Support general labor and yard tasks to keep operations running smoothly

What You Bring

• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions
• Strong attention to detail when recording information or handling vehicles
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Comfortable using a smartphone or camera for photos and uploads
• Good communication skills with customers, tow operators, and teammates
• Basic mechanical understanding of vehicles
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work on your feet throughout the day
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Dependable, punctual, and ready to work in a fast‑paced yard environment

Preferred (Not Required)

• Experience in auto detailing, yard work, warehouse, auction, or general labor
• Familiarity with vehicle parts and automotive terminology
• Previous experience with forklifts or willingness to learn (training provided)
• Strong work ethic in physically demanding roles

Work Environment

This is an outdoor, physical role involving walking, bending, lifting, and working around vehicles in all weather conditions. You’ll use mobile devices to document vehicles and follow safety procedures in a busy yard environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Yorktown, VA.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Yorktown,VA.
