Role Description
We’re looking for a driven, experienced Workers’ Compensation Paralegal / Case Manager who takes initiative, thrives on responsibility, and genuinely cares about producing excellent work for injured workers.

Core Responsibilities:
- Manage workers’ compensation files from intake through resolution
- Draft pleadings, discovery responses, and settlement documentation
- Maintain accurate case calendars and ensure all statutory deadlines are met
- Assist attorneys with hearing preparation and case strategy
- Track medical treatment and lien issues
- Proactively follow up on outstanding records, reports, and benefits
- Identify and designate treating MPN physicians
- Prepare summaries of medical reports and subpoenaed records
- Review and rate MMI reports
- Draft pleadings/documents, including advocacy letters, petitions, and pre-trial conference statements
- Communicate with clients and outside counsel as requested
- Conduct interviews with clients to gather information about their legal issues
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in person and remotely at California Workers’ Compensation hearings before the Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB)
- Prepare for and attend hearings, status conferences, and trials
- Draft legal correspondence, requests for supplemental information to doctors, pleadings, and other litigation documents
- Conduct case analysis, develop litigation strategies and work up claims to their resolution and settlement
- Manage discovery, including but not limited to reviewing medical records, depositions, and subpoenas
- Negotiate settlements and advocate on behalf of clients
- Maintain consistent communication with clients, attorneys, medical providers, and opposing counsel
- Track and manage deadlines and ensure compliance with WCAB rules and procedures
- Train and direct legal assistant in processes and procedures to assist in handling case load
- Defend and take depositions and/or cross examinations
- Manage a high-volume caseload with authority and minimal supervision
Experience
- 3–5 years of California Workers’ Compensation experience required
- Applicant representation experience preferred
- Must be bilingual in Spanish
- Strong knowledge of WCAB procedures, litigation processes, and discovery rules
- Excellent legal writing and document drafting skills
- Demonstrates strong negotiation, advocacy, and communication abilities
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple matters simultaneously
- Highly organized with strong time management and deadline tracking skills
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, and able to follow up effectively with minimal oversight
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Compensation & Growth:
- Salary range: $70,000+, depending on experience
