This role will collaborate and work alongside experienced PI attorneys and help oversee and grow the Firm’s Workers’ Compensation department. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years of workers’ compensation experience and is looking to expand their knowledge within the field. Ideal candidate experience will be between 3-15 years of experience.
This role is full-time and is on-site in downtown Manhattan.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage workers’ compensation cases from intake through resolution.
- Review and analyze medical records and reports, ensuring proper documentation and treatment of injuries.
- Represent clients at hearings, conferences, and administrative proceedings.
- Advise clients on case status, treatment, and expectations.
- Conduct legal research and prepare documents needed for court appearances, pleadings, depositions, and trial preparation.
- Negotiate settlements with carriers and opposing counsel toward favorable outcomes.
- Maintain positive and professional relations with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel through strong communication and professional conduct.
Education and Experience
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school is required.
- 3+ years of workers’ compensation experience is required.
- Admitted to practice in NY required.
