Role Overview
We are seeking a senior-level Workday Boundary Systems Architect to lead the design, governance, and optimization of enterprise systems that integrate with the Workday platform. This role will focus on architecting scalable, secure, and efficient integrations between Workday and multiple third-party systems across HR, Payroll, Finance, and related domains within a healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and define target-state architecture for Workday boundary systems and third-party platforms
- Lead integration architecture strategy using APIs, middleware, web services, file-based and event-driven approaches
- Evaluate current systems, identify gaps, and recommend modernization and optimization strategies
- Establish architecture standards for data governance, security, identity management, and system interoperability
- Create architecture artifacts including diagrams, data flows, interface inventories, and decision documents
- Partner with IT, business stakeholders, and vendors to align solutions with enterprise goals
- Lead impact analysis for Workday releases, integrations, and cross-system dependencies
- Drive architecture governance, design reviews, and solution approvals
- Support implementation readiness, cutover planning, and transition to operations
- Present architecture strategy, risks, and roadmap to executive leadership
Required Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or integration architecture
- Strong experience with Workday ecosystem, especially integrations and boundary systems
- Workday Certifications (Required):Integrations
- Security
- Proven experience in healthcare/hospital environment
- Expertise in:
- API-led architecture
- Middleware platforms
- Web services (SOAP/REST)
- Event-driven architectures
- Strong understanding of:
- Workday HCM, Payroll, and/or Finance modules
- Data governance, IAM, and enterprise security models
- Experience leading large-scale digital transformation or ERP programs
Preferred Qualifications
- TOGAF or equivalent Enterprise Architecture certification
- Experience with:
- UKG (Workforce Management)
- SailPoint (Identity & Access Management)
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern integration tools
