The Flag Football Coach is responsible for coaching, coordination, fund-raising, and administration of activities associated with the College’s inaugural flag football program. The individual will be responsible for conducting athletic activities in accordance with respective rules, regulations, and policies of the College and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC), and the Alabama Community College System Board of Trustees.
Salary Schedule: L (up to 19 hours per week)
- Responsible for the administration of all aspects of the NJCAA flag football program including recruitment and retention of student-athletes; grant-in-aid recommendations; academic integrity; fiscal management; scheduling; compliance with NJCAA, ACCC, and College rules and regulations.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of the game and rules of flag football.
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills in coordinating and supervising the women’s flag football program.
- Creates a quality program to attract students and student-athletes to attend the College.
- Incorporate an academic policy for checking and evaluating the student-athletes’ grades and attendance, including working with student-athletes and faculty in registration, scheduling classes, and monitoring academic progress.
- Determine the eligibility of athletes while ensuring the submission of proper reports to the Alabama Community College Conference, National Junior College Athletic Association, and other appropriate agencies.
- Attend division, state, and regional meetings that relate to the team..
- Promote and represent the women’s flag football program at TSCC, community and conference events
- Works closely with the Athletics Director on the development of annual budgets. And operates the program within budgetary limits.
- Assist with monitoring the program’s budget and seeking innovative funding and fundraising opportunities.
- Completes, processes, and provides timely copies of all athletic insurance-related forms and paperwork to the Athletic Director.
- Creates a quality program to attract students and student-athletes to attend the College.
- Works closely with the Athletics Director on the development of annual budgets.
- Develop competitions under policy and within budget guidelines to include the arrangements of transportation, meals, and lodging for competitions on and off campus.
- Assist student-athletes with transfer support to four-year athletic programs.
- Monitors team and individual statistical submittals to conference and national offices.
- Serves on college and community committees as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications:- Associate degree from an accredited institution
- A minimum of two years of documented playing or coaching experience with football/flag-football at the high school or intercollegiate level
Preferred Qualifications:- Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Knowledge of flag football rules and regulations

- Knowledge of appropriate safety rules and regulations;
- Knowledge of current coaching methods and collegiate eligibility standards;
- Ability to work and communicate with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds including students, parents, college employees, and the public;
- Ability to handle various situations in a calm and professional manner;
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize issues;
- Ability to operate in a professional manner at all times;
- Ability to operate in a high-pressure situation and respond to issues in a calm manner;
