WFA Controls Analyst 3 – Supervision Oversight and Support Analyst Responsible for controls analysis and quality of business policy and procedures. Provides proactive solutions. The analyst is the subject matter expert (SME) for associates and regional/senior management on regulatory/compliance policies & procedures, risk management for firm and vendor provided products and services, controls, tools, suitability requirements and training that impacts the retail locations. Reviews controls to manage high risk investment strategies and complex products and evaluates resources in place to monitor risk as well as consult with business units that provide service, products or support. Conducts reviews to ensure risk based suitability analysis of client financials and transactions including trades, potential risk and rewards were understood by the Financial Advisor and Client and all product alternatives were considered to achieve the clients financial objectives. Conducts research and complex analysis in search of current and best practices as well as opportunities for additional synergies and to maximize efficiencies. Responsible for identifying, reviewing and addressing unapproved or high risk activity within accounts or away from the firm as well as conduct preliminary surveillance, monitoring and investigative analysis of certain retail account activity and outside business activity, related controls and provide proactive resolutions. The position is integral in policy/process changes, process improvements, and technology enhancements with a focus on Supervision impact. May serve as back-up to Supervision Analysts and Regional Branch Supervisors. May be required to identify training needs based on analysis as well as create, deliver and track training on an ongoing basis for ad-hoc needs as well as new hire team members.
WFA Centralized Supervision is seeking a talented, experienced professional to join its Supervision Oversight and Support Unit. This role will be primarily responsible for supporting the manager of the centralized Supervision & Oversight Support Team. This team is responsible for supporting the Transform Supervision (s.c.o.u.t.) efforts. S.c.o.u.t. is a continuous and multi-year initiative to provide a holistic supervision and oversight experience that enables Wells Fargo Advisors to look across systems and data to determine appropriate actions.
The Supervision & Oversight Support analyst will be responsible for supporting the manager’s leadership, organizational, accountability and strategic direction by assisting in:
• Serving as the s.c.o.u.t. liaison and Epic owner for WFA Supervision
• Intaking new projects by working with stakeholders and end users to assess the business need and related risks, identify process improvements and use that information to define business case for epic – which is work to be done by the IT Agile Release Train (ART)
• Guiding the epic through the solution development, including: working with Product Manager(s) to help define features that make up each epic, coaching the program and development team on the business needs and participation in ART cadences as needed
• Working with portfolio group including other epic owners and transformation team to ensure epics are worked in economically sequenced (priority) order
• Identifying metrics to help measure success
• Reviewing relevant processes and tools to gain an enhanced understanding of Supervision unit needs, including: engaging and understanding evolving CSU and other supervisory department’s responsibilities; and understanding systems, technologies and Supervision tools (i.e. scout, SuperVision, iDeal, Affirm, ZL, Employee Review Dashboard and RAM Service Request)
• Working with the Business Review Group on change priorities, enhancements and defects
• Working with the Supervision Analytics team on the s.c.o.u.t. uploader function in uploading tasks from a spreadsheet into the Supervisory Worklist
• Training Qualified Supervisors (QS) and managers on Supervision tools
• Demo Supervision tools for QSs, managers, Audit, Legal and Regulators
• Support business user testing
• Partners with Controls Unit and Policies & Practices - Compliance to review policies that allow Supervision and lines of business within the Client Relationship Group reasonably comply with all applicable regulations.
• Assist in validating ongoing controls for management metrics and reporting.
• Coordinate backup support within WFA Centralized Supervision when required
• Complete other duties as assigned by manager
• Proficient at gathering and analyzing data from multiple sources, identifying trends and presenting analysis through meaningful statistics
• Ability to work independently, make decisions, and instruct others
• Ability to work independently while balancing the needs of multiple projects
• Audit, risk management, and/or retail brokerage experience with the proven ability to critically assess risk management practices within sales channel processes.
• Independent negotiating experience
The salary range displayed below is based on a Full-time 40 hour a week schedule.
