Certified Welding Inspector / CWI-NDT Inspector

Pay: $38-$40 per hour

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Certified Welding Inspector / CWI-NDT Inspector to join a well-established heavy fabrication and machining business based in Bainbridge, GA.
This is a strong opportunity for someone with experience across weld inspection, fabricated weldments, dimensional inspection, NDT, heavy steel fabrication, machining and quality control who is looking for a long-term, permanent position with excellent benefits.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring fabricated and machined products meet required specifications, quality standards and inspection hold points throughout production.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect fabricated weldments, machined components and assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications
- Carry out visual inspection and NDT-related inspection activities
- Record findings for visual, magnetic particle, dye penetrant and ultrasonic testing
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Complete dimensional inspection of components and assemblies
- Prepare inspection reports, welding logs and quality documentation
- Work closely with production teams to ensure inspections are completed in line with shop flow and hold points
- Maintain calibration records for welding machines and inspection gauges
- Prepare and maintain welder continuity logs
- Support first-run, in-process and final inspection activity
Requirements
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector qualification
- Experience inspecting fabricated weldments
- Experience within heavy steel fabrication, machining, construction or a similar industrial environment
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings and engineering specifications
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Able to work closely with production, quality and management teams
- High school diploma / GED or equivalent
- Ultrasonic testing experience to AWS D1.1 / AWS D1.5 would be highly beneficial
- NDT experience including MT, PT and UT would be advantageous
