Product Manager / Product Specialist – Welding Consumables

About the Role:

Astaras is seeking a highly motivated Product Manager/Specialist to oversee the strategy, development, and growth of our welding consumables portfolio. In this role, you will be responsible for managing product lifecycle activities, analyzing market trends, supporting sales teams with technical expertise, and driving product profitability. This position is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge of welding materials and processes, combined with commercial acumen.

Key Responsibilities

Product & Portfolio Management

• Manage the full lifecycle of welding consumables, including MIG consumables & guns, TIG electrodes, consumables, & torches, Air Carbon arc gouging rods and torches, Oxy fuel torches and accessories, Plasma cutting and Laser accessories.
• Analyze product performance, pricing structure, and profitability to recommend strategic adjustments.
• Lead new product introductions, from concept and testing to launch and commercialization.

Sales & Customer Support

• Provide technical support for sales teams, distributors, and key accounts.
• Conduct product training sessions, demonstrations, and application troubleshooting.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with engineering, R&D, operations, supply chain, and marketing.
• Support production planning and inventory management.
• Collaborate with marketing and customers to develop engaging product content, datasheets, and promotional material.

Market Analysis & Strategy

• Conduct competitive analysis, market research, and trend evaluation to identify growth opportunities.
• Develop and execute product positioning and go-to-market strategies.
• Monitor industry developments in welding technologies, materials, and standards.

Qualifications

Required

• Experience in product management or technical marketing.
• 3+ years of experience in welding consumables, industrial manufacturing, or metalworking.
• Strong knowledge of welding processes (SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW).
• Ability to interpret technical datasheets & CAD drawings.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Preferred

• Experience with CRM's (Salesforce preferred).
• Experience with Microsoft Business Central.
