This role works in the welding department, primarily performing MIG welding on stainless steel and galvanized materials to build parts for assembly and aftermarket components. You interpret and work from fabrication drawings, apply Lean principles and 5S practices, and contribute to high-quality, efficient production in a manufacturing environment.

Pay: $21.79/hour + Weekly Pay!

Shift: 2nd and 3rd

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding on stainless steel and galvanized materials to fabricate high-quality parts for assembly and aftermarket use.
  • Read, interpret, and follow fabrication drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate dimensions and specifications.
  • Use measuring tools to verify dimensions, tolerances, and alignment of welded components.
  • Operate welding-related equipment and machinery, which may include lathe machines and other shop tools, in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Inspect welds and finished parts for quality, making adjustments or repairs as needed to meet production standards.
  • Apply Lean principles and 5S practices to maintain an organized, efficient, and safe work area.
  • Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to facility safety guidelines.
  • Perform basic housekeeping duties during and at the end of each shift to keep the work area clean and free of debris.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and resolve issues that affect quality or throughput.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in MIG welding, particularly on stainless steel and galvanized materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings accurately.
  • Ability to use measuring tools effectively to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Experience operating welding equipment and related machinery, such as lathe machines and production tools.
  • Knowledge of Lean principles and 5S methodologies and the ability to apply them in daily work.
  • Familiarity with working in a manufacturing shop environment or willingness to learn in this setting.
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and use required PPE consistently.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing shop environment is preferred.
  • Completion of a trade school program in welding or a related field is welcome, including recent graduates.
  • Comfort working in a loud, fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to work any of the available shifts as needed (1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.79 - $21.79/hr.
