POSITION SUMMARYWELD ALL NECESSARY PARTS AND JOINTS OF THE TRAILER PER ENGINEERING SPECIFICATIONSPOSITION QUALIFICATIONS (COMPETENCY STATEMENT(S))•MIG WELD EITHER STEEL OR ALUMINUM TRAILER PARTS•MIG WELD IN FLAT AND VERTICAL POSITIONS•Mechanical skills•Basic Math skills•Ability to accurately read a tape measure, weld symbols and blueprints •Pass Fontaine Specified Weld TestEXPERIENCE•Welding experience preferred•Formal welding trainingJob StepDescription of step in proper sequence (got this from job description they sent)0SET-UP WELDER #11Use overhead crane to pick up 2 beams and place in setup.2Pick up cross members from tables by setup station and tack weld onto beams3Use overhead crane to pickup suspensions and place on beams4Weld the buckets of the suspensions onto the beams5Pick up landing gear and place onto beams6Tack weld landing gear braces onto the beam 7Bolt landing gear onto brace using pneumatic impact gun8Pick up king pin nest with overhead crane and weld onto front of beams9Weld front skirt onto front of beams10Weld K braces and V braces onto beams11Weld tank brackets on12Weld backing plate on, if necessary0SET-UP WELDER #21Pick up floor sills and slide into holes 2Set side rails into turn jig and clamp side rails using pneumatic clamps3Weld all floor sills to the beams4Weld tail skirt, bumper, winch track, mid turn bracket and side rail braces0TURN FIXTURE WELDING STATION1Move trailer from Set-up #2 station to the Turn Fixture Welding Station with overhead crane2Use handle on sliding trailer securement to place pin and bolted nut to secure trailer in turn jig. 3Once trailer is secure and moved to the side position, lock trailer positioning to keep straight using air activated valve handle4Complete any necessary welding on trailer

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.40 - $27.40/hr.
