Job Title: MIG Welder / Fabrication Technician - 24/hr

Job Description

This role focuses on fabricating and welding metal components according to blueprints to produce high-quality bar grating and related products. You will set up and operate MIG welding equipment, prepare and fit materials, and verify that finished parts meet precise specifications in a production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret and work from blueprints to weld components to exact specifications.
  • Set up, align, and fit end plates and tread blanks in preparation for welding.
  • Operate MIG welding equipment to attach end plates to tread blanks safely and efficiently.
  • Use torch cutting equipment as needed to prepare or adjust metal components.
  • Handle and use hand tools to support fabrication, fitting, and finishing tasks.
  • Inspect finished welds and fabricated parts to ensure they meet quality and dimensional requirements.
  • Identify and correct basic defects or inconsistencies in welds and assemblies.
  • Follow established safety procedures and guidelines while operating welding, torch, and material handling equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe and efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with team members and follow production instructions to meet daily output goals.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of welding experience, preferably in a production or fabrication environment.
  • Proficiency in MIG welding and the ability to operate MIG welding equipment safely.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately for fabrication and welding tasks.
  • Torch cutting experience for preparing and modifying metal components.
  • Experience using common hand tools for metal fabrication and assembly.
  • Basic understanding of fabrication processes, including fitting, aligning, and preparing parts for welding.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience operating a hoist for lifting and positioning materials.
  • Forklift operation experience for moving materials and finished products.
  • Familiarity with fabrication environments that produce steel and aluminum bar grating and fencing products.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a production setting.

Work Environment

The role is based in a manufacturing facility that produces high-quality steel and aluminum bar grating, as well as fencing products and anti-slip coatings. You will work around MIG welding equipment, torch cutting tools, hand tools, and material handling equipment such as hoists and forklifts. The environment is production-focused, with an emphasis on safety, precision, and teamwork. Openings are available on first shift, with standard schedules of either an 8-hour shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. or a 10-hour shift from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The work involves standing, handling materials, and operating machinery throughout the shift in an industrial setting.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $49920.00 - $49920.00/yr.
