Job Description

Join a dynamic rail and tank car repair facility as a Welder and Fabricator, where you will play a crucial role in railcar repair. This position involves welding and fabricating tasks, with a focus on assembling and fabricating components. It offers a unique opportunity to become officially certified for railcar repair, fostering long-term career growth.

Responsibilities

  • Weld mig/flux 20% of the time and fabricate/assemble 80% of the time.
  • Read and interpret blueprints.
  • Cut steel using an Oxy-Torch.
  • Fit up and tack weld components.
  • Perform overhead welding.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in mig/flux welding.
  • Ability to weld overhead.
  • Capability to read blueprints.
  • Structural welding experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with railcar repair and fabrication.
  • Knowledge of railcar, tank car, and hopper car assembly.
  • Familiarity with the ASSOCIATION OF AMERICAN RAILROADS and Federal Railroad Administration standards.

Work Environment

Work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility. The shift runs from 6:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hempstead, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
