Job Description

The Welder Assembler performs spot welding and related assembly work in a heavy industrial environment. This role follows clear instructions, uses basic welding and production skills, and contributes to the efficient and safe manufacture of products. It is well suited for entry-level candidates who are eager to learn, physically capable, and ready to develop their welding expertise on the job.

Responsibilities

  • Perform spot welding operations according to provided instructions and production requirements.
  • Assemble components using welding techniques to meet quality and safety standards.
  • Follow written and verbal directions accurately and consistently throughout the shift.
  • Read and interpret basic blueprints and production documentation to complete assigned tasks.
  • Maintain focus and concentration on repetitive tasks to ensure consistent weld quality.
  • Use appropriate tools and equipment safely in a heavy industrial setting.
  • Support production goals by working efficiently and meeting expected output levels.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to address issues and improve processes.
  • Adhere to all workplace safety procedures, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Assist with basic housekeeping of the work area to keep equipment and surroundings clean and organized.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to perform spot welding in a production environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and respond positively to coaching.
  • Physical strength to handle materials and equipment in a heavy industrial setting.
  • Good hand-eye coordination to perform precise welding and assembly tasks.
  • Endurance to stand, move, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to concentrate on tasks for extended periods to maintain quality and safety.
  • Basic ability to understand and communicate information clearly with supervisors and team members.
  • Foundational welding skills or training relevant to production work.
  • Ability to read and work from basic blueprints or diagrams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Entry-level friendly role with no minimum educational requirements for welder apprentices.
  • Any prior exposure to welding, fabrication, or industrial production is beneficial.
  • Willingness to learn and improve welding and assembly techniques over time.
  • Openness to feedback and coaching to build skills and increase responsibility.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality in a production environment.

Work Environment

The role is based in a heavy industrial production facility where welding and assembly are performed using spot welding equipment and related tools. Safety procedures and protective equipment are an integral part of daily operations, and employees are expected to follow all guidelines to maintain a safe and efficient workplace.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Hillsborough, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
