Job Title: Welder

Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a Welder, where you will be responsible for positioning and clamping components of fabricated metal products prior to welding. You'll set up and adjust welding equipment, change tips, and adjust temperature, feed rates, gas flow, and types of gases as needed. You'll apply proper welding procedures such as MIG, TIG, and resistance welding to weld metal parts together, lay out materials, and tack weld as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain proper Kanban levels for manufactured and purchased parts.
  • Maintain work area to 5S standards.
  • Select components, align, and assemble them in the proper sequence using tools such as drills, rivets, screws, bolts, braces, tape, cement, or solder.
  • Select appropriate sub-assemblies or component parts and install them in the unit in the specified sequence according to the Sequence of Events (SOE).
  • Apply wiring harnesses, sensors, and other electrical components in cabinets as per SOE.
  • Recognize color codes to ensure that wiring and other color-coded procedures meet guidelines.
  • Read electrical wiring diagrams for accurate assembly.
  • Utilize a wide range of hand tools, drill, rivet gun, saw, hy-pot tester, and drill press.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding.
  • Experience in fabrication and fitting.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Mechanical inspection skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with assembler tasks.
  • Familiarity with electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Ability to use hand tools and various equipment such as drills and saws.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Asheville, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.
