POSITION SUMMARYThe Center for Independent Living (CIL) is seeking a highly organized and collaborative Door to Door Coordinator to oversee the daily operations of its same-day travel transportation program. This role is responsible for supervising drivers and dispatch staff, coordinating transportation services, and ensuring safe, efficient, and person-centered service delivery for individuals with disabilities.The Door to Door Coordinator plays a critical role in maintaining program quality, supporting staff, and ensuring that transportation services promote independence, accessibility, and community integration.This position is grant-funded and contingent upon continued funding.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESProgram Coordination & OperationsOversee daily transportation scheduling, ensuring efficient route planning and service deliveryCoordinate ride requests and assign trips to drivers in a timely mannerMonitor operations to ensure trips are completed safely, on time, and in alignment with program standardsTroubleshoot scheduling conflicts, delays, or service issues in real timeEnsure alignment and collaboration between transportation programsStaff Supervision & SupportSupervise and support transportation drivers and dispatch staffProvide onboarding, training, and ongoing coaching to ensure high-quality service deliveryEnsure adherence to organizational policies, safety procedures, and reporting requirementsFoster a team culture rooted in respect, accountability, and collaborationDispatch OversightOversee dispatch functions, including scheduling, communication, and coordination of ridesEnsure clear and consistent communication between dispatch, drivers, and program staffSupport dispatch in managing high-volume requests and prioritizing servicesCompliance & SafetyEnsure all drivers meet licensing, insurance, and safety requirementsMonitor driving records, incident reports, and compliance with transportation policiesAddress and document safety concerns, incidents, or service complaintsMaintain adherence to local, state, and organizational regulationsDocumentation & ReportingReview and approve trip logs, mileage reports, and related documentationTrack program data, including ridership, trip frequency, and service outcomesPrepare reports for internal use, funding requirements, and program evaluationParticipant EngagementSupport a person-centered approach to transportation servicesAddress participant concerns, feedback, or service needs in a timely and respectful mannerEnsure services promote dignity, independence, and accessTrainingComplete required training related to paratransit and accessible transportation servicesQUALIFICATIONSBachelors degree in social services, public administration, transportation, or a related field (or equivalent experience)24 years of experience in transportation coordination, operations, logistics, or human servicesExperience supervising staff or leading teamsValid drivers license and acceptable driving recordPREFERRED SKILLS & ATTRIBUTESCommitment to anti-racism, LGBTQIA+ liberation, gender and economic justice, and anti-ableism; willingness to engage with Disability Justice principlesAwareness of Independent Living, Disability Rights, and Disability Justice frameworks preferred (training can be provided)Experience working with diverse communities, especially Black, Indigenous, and communities of color and low-income populationsStrong interpersonal skills with a patient, calm, and adaptable approachCulturally responsive and respectful communication skillsAbility to manage multiple tasks and adapt in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of Bay Area transportation systems, roadways, and traffic patterns is a plusAbility to work collaboratively with staff and community partnersLived experience with a disability preferredBilingual/bicultural candidates encouraged to applyWORK ENVIRONMENT & REQUIREMENTSThis position requires a combination of in-office work and field-based responsibilities, including travel throughout the community.PHYSICAL DEMANDSAbility to remain in a stationary position approximately 50% of the timeAbility to communicate and exchange information via phone, email, and videoReasonable accommodations will be provided in accordance with applicable laws.How to ApplyPlease submit a resume and a cover letter describing your interest in this position and how your lived and/or professional experiences connect to our mission and values.All job offers are contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment background check.If you require a reasonable accommodation at any stage of the application or hiring process, please get in touch with the Hiring Team at hiring@thecil.org.Equal Opportunity Employer StatementCIL Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
