Under the general supervision of the Public Works Director, manages the operational, financial, capital plans, and personnel activities of the Water Resource Recovery Division. Directs the operations and maintenance of the wastewater treatment plant, lift stations, and sewer collection systems. Ensures environmental health and compliance. Assures compliance with local, state, and federal law regulations and standards. Minimum requirements: Graduation from high school supplemented by an associate’s degree in biology, chemistry, wastewater, environmental engineering, management, or related field and two years of DRC in Grade III or higher; bachelor’s degree, preferred. Experience cannot substitute all of the educational requirement. Must possess and maintain a current non-restricted Grade IV Wastewater Operators Certification from the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (IA DNR) as required by the IA DNR. Possession of current Class B CDL with Air Brakes and Tanker required.
