Qualifications:
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Two (2) years of experience in water distribution systems
  • Water sample collection experience preferred
  • Must possess or can obtain at least a Class C Water Distribution and Class II Wastewater Collection license.
  • Must possess a valid State of Texas Driver’s License.

The Water Quality Technician ensures the safety and reliability of the Town’s water supply. The position is responsible for monitoring and maintaining water quality through daily sampling, inspections, and pressure checks; performing flushing and maintenance of mains; maintaining records and databases; and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The role also provides technical support, customer service, contractor oversight, and backup assistance to other Town staff to support the safe and continuous delivery of water services.
