Role Description

What Is a Mitigation Specialist?

A Mitigation Specialist plays a critical role in the property claims process by reviewing and evaluating water damage mitigation work following property losses. They ensure mitigation efforts are reasonable, necessary, and compliant with industry standards, including proper classification of the loss, scope of work performed, and documentation provided.


Mitigation Specialists analyze invoices, estimates, photos, moisture documentation, and job details to confirm that charges align with the cause and severity of loss, applicable guidelines, and best practices. Their work helps maintain fairness, accuracy, and consistency in claims handling while supporting timely and appropriate claim resolution.


This role is ideal for experienced adjusters who enjoy analytical work, attention to detail, and applying technical knowledge to real-world claims scenarios.


Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of water mitigation processes, industry standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to analyze and evaluate invoices for accuracy.
