As a trainee, you will take part in skilled and technical work that supports the maintenance, operation, and regulatory compliance of a sewage treatment plant, as well as its sewage collection and potable water disinfection systems. Your duties will include assisting with the operation, maintenance, evaluation, and repair of a variety of equipment essential to these systems. You will also help maintain and repair buildings and grounds throughout the forest district, performing tasks such as mowing, weeding, and general landscaping. This hands-on experience will help you build practical skills while contributing to the overall function and appearance of the district. (WCE-7,8,12 and WWD-1,4)
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Wednesday - Saturday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:- Six months of building maintenance or trades experience;or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:- This position requires possession of a PA class C Driver's License.
- All employees must obtain, within the probationary period, a valid Operator’s Certificate, or an Operator in Training Designation issued by the Pennsylvania State Board for Certification of Water and Wastewater System Operators as a wastewater treatment plant operator that is equal to or greater than the classification and sub classification of the wastewater system to be operated or maintained. (Water and Wastewater System Class D and E [WCE-7,8,12 and WWD-1,4]).
