Primary Objective: In broad terms, briefly state the major purpose of primary objective of this position.
Removes/replaces loom beams using tie-in equipment. Other duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE PREREQUISITES:
Mandatory – Must be able to read and write in manner indicated on application.
Preferred – Prior experience as a Weaver or Beamer Operator.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to work assigned schedule. Must be self-motivated. Ability to legibly fill out forms/check sheets. Ability to perform mathematical calculations, such as addition and subtraction. Knowledge of weaving procedures, quality assurance standards and product specifications. Ability to learn job specific computer skills. Ability to obtain powered industrial equipment license. Must complete basic weaver training.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Reports to the Shift Supervisor and works with minimum amount of supervision.
DIRECTION EXERCISED:
Limited to personal activities required to perform job duties.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Frequency – Amount – Description)
STANDING / WALKING:
Ability to stand and walk continuously for up to twelve (12) hours during a twelve (12) hour shift.
SITTING:
Ability to sit for a short period of time on powered industrial truck.
MOVING SELF:
Moves throughout weaving department continuously during a twelve (12) hour shift.
CLIMBING:
Ability to ascend/descend a powered industrial truck. Ability to step on/off catwalk as needed during a twelve (12) hour shift.
MOVING (MATERIALS): (Lifting – carrying – pushing – pulling)
Pushing/pulling – Ability to push and maneuver tie-in equipment. Ability to pull warp yarn from loom beam, turn hand wheel on loom and push broom and/or mop. Push not pull any [movable type] equipment. Get help when needed.Lifting/carrying – Ability to lift up to fifty (50) pounds without mechanical assistance. Get help when needed.
HEARING / SPEAKING:
Must be able to communicate with co-workers and management as needed to perform job duties.
REACHING:
Vertical – Ability to reach full arm extension to perform job duties.
Horizontal – Ability to reach full arm extension to perform job duties.
VISUAL ACUITY:
Must have adequate normal, color vision and depth perception to perform job duties. Ability to utilize both far and near vision while performing job duties. Must be able to recognize and identify defects in fabric and sufficient vision to draw in ends. Ability to see and separate double yarns and missing ends.
BENDING / STOOPING:
Ability to bend, stoop, squat or kneel, as needed to perform job duties.
MENTAL ABILITIES:
Ability to make decisions regarding work priorities Ability to learn tie-in procedures. Ability to recognize quality and loom problems and to record. Ability to read warp out board. Ability to learn job related computer skills.
OTHER:
Fingering - Ability to demonstrate good tactile discrimination and functional sensation.
Medium motor manipulation - Ability to utilize small hand tools, scissors and reed hook while performing tie-ins. Ability to manipulate controls on powered industrial equipment and knotter. Ability to manipulate and maneuver loom beams of various lengths, both full and empty, by hand and by powered industrial equipment. Ability to manipulate and maneuver large beam gears onto/off loom beams.
Fine motor coordination - Ability to tie knots by hand. Ability to enter job related data in the computer system.
Grip - Ability to utilize both a one handed and a two-handed grip.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
Must wear hearing protection, safety glasses with permanent side shields and safety shoes always when in the warehouse and on production floor. Must adhere to plant clothing and footwear policy. Wear personal protective equipment as required by task at hand. Use lockout/tagout where required.

Loom, scissors, reed hook, knotter, tie-in frame, powered industrial equipment, cart with broom, mop and water bucket, pry bars, wrenches, utility knife, putty knife, brush, utility truck with cleaning equipment, grease can, lease blocks, waste can, battery, loom beam, computer, warp truck, beam gear hand truck, scrapper, 2 watch your step signs, and wet floor sign.
MATERIALS USED:
Yarn, tie threads, oil/grease, pen/pencil, lease string, and knotter string.
