Job Description

This role is responsible for accurately picking, packing, and processing customer orders in a high-volume warehouse environment. You will work with RF scanners, conveyor systems, and packing materials to prepare secure shipments, support configuration and enterprise order areas, and manually load outbound trailers using proper stacking methods. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to work on your feet for extended periods, and comfort working with warehouse equipment and technology.

Responsibilities

  • Pick and process pick/pack items, speed picks, and ready-ship products using a portable RF scanner.
  • Handle single-line and multi-line orders, ensuring accuracy and completeness for each order.
  • Pick and process orders for configuration and enterprise areas as needed.
  • Place non-conveyorable products in designated areas for pick-up and further processing.
  • Maintain consistent conveyor flow by keeping conveyors and sensors clear of obstructions.
  • Pack boxes using bubbles or other packing materials to ensure secure and damage-free shipment.
  • Inspect boxes and products for visible damage prior to shipment and correct issues as necessary.
  • Verify that box size and fit are appropriate for the items and adjust packing as required.
  • Inspect fragile items to ensure proper over-packing with bubble bags or other protective materials.
  • Manually load outbound trailers in the freight area using a brick-method of stacking for stability.
  • Correctly verify and match shipping labels to the appropriate carrier trucks before loading.
  • Notify management of problem boxes, damaged items, or unusual situations to ensure quick resolution.
  • Maintain supplies in the work area, including filling the bubble machine media and making or requesting additional boxes.
  • Support general warehouse operations such as palletizing, staging, and organizing inventory as needed.
  • Follow all safety procedures while working around conveyors, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with packing and packaging in a warehouse or similar environment.
  • Ability to use a portable RF scanner to pick and process orders.
  • Experience with warehouse inventory and general labor tasks.
  • Ability to perform quality checks and inspections on products and packaging.
  • Capability to manually palletize, stack, and organize products for shipment.
  • Ability to assemble and disassemble computer equipment and a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Analytical skills and the ability to solve problems in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technology and adapt to an ever-changing industry.
  • Ability to work safely in a warehouse environment with noise from conveyors and forklifts and changing temperatures.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of force rarely (0–12% of the workday), using team lift for loads over 50 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull up to 50 pounds of force occasionally (0–33% of the workday) and 51–75 pounds rarely (0–12% of the workday).
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, stoop, and carry products for eight or more hours in combination during the workday.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience operating in a large warehouse environment.
  • Familiarity with warehouse production workflows and shipping processes.
  • Experience working around or with forklifts and conveyor systems.
  • Comfort using basic warehouse tools and equipment to support packing and inventory tasks.
  • Willingness to obtain additional certifications supported by the company after conversion to full-time employment.

Work Environment

You will work in a large, temperature-controlled warehouse environment. The facility includes active conveyor systems and forklift traffic, resulting in a moderate noise level typical of a busy distribution center. The role is physically active and requires extended periods of standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying products. Team lift practices are used for heavier items, and safety procedures are emphasized throughout the warehouse.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
