Production Worker

Join our dynamic team as a Production Worker in the toasting room, where you will play a key role in crafting wine barrels from white oak wood. This position involves working with a team toasting the barrels on the inside, prepping them over a fire to soften the wood and using machinery to shape them.

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with the crew to toast and shape wine barrels.
• Handle the assembly and staging of barrels for fire prepping.
• Operate machinery to assist in shaping the barrels.
• Follow all applicable safety rules and procedures.
• Receive incoming finished barrels and place them into inventory.
• Organize and maintain the warehouse for effective storage and quick retrieval of products.
• Pull ordered materials from inventory and stage for pickups and deliveries.
• Maintain all products in a quality and marketable condition.
• Keep accurate inventory records.
• Physically sort through various products to remove defective materials.

• General labor experience.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and use small hand tools.
• Experience in the wine industry and light industrial work.
• Proficiency with power tools.
• Ability to stand, climb, reach, bend, and twist throughout complete shifts.

• Previous warehouse experience is preferred.
• Ability to be trained and licensed/certified to operate forklift equipment after proving reliability in the production area.

Work Environment

The toasting room is an open warehouse environment where temperatures can vary, becoming hot in the summer and cooler in the winter. The space is lively with multiple fires used for wood softening, making it loud at times. The production team consists of about 14 people, fostering a close-knit atmosphere where everyone interacts and contributes. Shifts run from Monday to Friday, 5 AM to 1:30 PM, with scheduled breaks to ensure adequate rest. Duties involve rolling rather than lifting 110 lb barrels, and mobility is essential as the work requires stretching, bending, squatting, and lifting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Napa, CA.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Napa,CA.
