VP, Hedge Fund - Corporate Strategy

We have been retained exclusively by a leading alternative asset manager to identify an exceptional Associate Director to join their Corporate Strategy function. This is a rare opportunity to operate at the center of a high-performing firm, working alongside senior leadership to shape and execute the organization's most important strategic priorities.


The successful candidate will sit within a lean, high-impact Strategy team, partnering directly with the Head of Strategy, Management Committee, and Investment Committee members to drive the firm's long-term agenda. The role spans strategy development, new business due diligence, and cross-functional transformation offering meaningful exposure to the most consequential decisions across the business.


Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the creation and support the execution of the firm's strategic plan, translating high-level priorities into structured, actionable workstreams
  • Perform rigorous due diligence on potential new strategies, products, and business lines, synthesizing complex information into clear, evidence-based recommendations for senior leadership
  • Lead cross-functional projects to build new capabilities or materially improve existing ones, managing stakeholders across investment, operations, distribution, and corporate functions
  • Conduct deep-dive research and quantitative and qualitative analysis to support strategic decision-making at the Management and Investment Committee level
  • Develop high-quality written outputs including board materials, investment memos, and strategic frameworks that distil nuanced thinking into concise and compelling narratives


Qualifications:

  • 5–9 years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, and/or in-house corporate strategy at a financial services firm
  • Prior exposure to alternative asset management whether through coverage, advisory work, or direct employment is advantageous
  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MBA, CFA, or equivalent) considered favorably
