ROLE OVERVIEW
The Vice President, Asset Management is responsible for leading the strategic direction, financial performance, and long-term value creation of the firm’s commercial real estate portfolio. Acting as a key advisor to ownership, this role oversees asset strategy, capital allocation, leasing performance, and portfolio optimization across all assets.
This individual operates at the executive level, driving investment decisions, guiding portfolio strategy, and ensuring alignment between asset performance, market conditions, and the firm’s broader business objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Portfolio Leadership & Strategy
- Define and execute portfolio-wide asset management strategy aligned with ownership’s investment objectives
- Lead business planning across all assets, including hold/sell strategies, repositioning, and long-term value creation initiatives
- Identify and drive portfolio optimization opportunities, including acquisitions, dispositions, and recapitalizations
Financial Performance & Value Creation
- Oversee portfolio-level financial performance, including NOI growth, cash flow optimization, and return metrics (IRR, equity multiples)
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting processes across the portfolio
- Drive strategic initiatives to enhance asset value, including revenue growth and expense optimization
Leasing Strategy & Revenue Optimization
- Provide executive oversight on leasing strategy, tenant mix, and pricing across the portfolio
- Partner with leasing teams and brokers to maximize occupancy and long-term asset performance
- Review and approve complex lease transactions and major tenant negotiations
Capital Planning & Investment Oversight
- Lead capital allocation strategy, including prioritization and execution of CapEx and redevelopment initiatives
- Evaluate and approve major capital projects, ensuring alignment with ROI and long-term asset strategy
- Partner with investment teams on underwriting, due diligence, and execution of acquisitions and developments
Operational Oversight
- Provide strategic oversight to property management and operations teams, ensuring alignment with asset-level and portfolio-level goals
- Establish and enforce performance standards, KPIs, and accountability frameworks
- Ensure operational execution supports financial performance and tenant experience
Market Intelligence & Growth Strategy
- Maintain deep expertise in regional and national market trends to inform investment decisions
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and revenue streams
- Play a key role in shaping the firm’s growth strategy and market positioning
Executive & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as a primary interface with ownership, investors, and key stakeholders
- Deliver high-level portfolio reporting and strategic recommendations
- Build and maintain relationships with institutional partners, brokers, and industry leaders
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop asset management and cross-functional teams
- Foster a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement
- Build scalable processes and systems to support portfolio growth and operational excellence
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, or related field
- 9–12+ years of experience in asset management, investments, or commercial real estate leadership
- Proven experience managing large, multi-asset commercial real estate portfolios
Technical & Functional Skills
- Deep expertise in financial analysis, capital planning, and investment strategy
- Strong understanding of leasing, development, and asset repositioning
- Experience with institutional capital, joint ventures, and investor reporting preferred
- Proficiency in Excel and real estate financial tools (Argus preferred)
