VMware Administrator
LOCATION: Duluth/Suwanee, GA (off satellite blvd)
C-H (3-4 months on contract) – the contract period focuses on getting them trained up on everything.
WORKING DAYS/HOURS:
During contract: 5 days onsite during the training period (Monday through Friday, 8am – 5pm ET during training).
After contract: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote (actual shift is 8am – 5pm ET, Tuesday through Saturday)
Interview process:
2 rounds
1st round – zoom video for 30 minutes with the hiring manager
2nd round – onsite meeting with the team for an hour

Job description:
The VMware Administrator is responsible for supporting both internal and customer-facing physical and virtual infrastructure environments. This role requires a solid foundation in compute platforms, cloud technologies, and related automation practices. The engineer must be capable of diagnosing and resolving technical and process-driven issues efficiently, with a strong focus on service quality and customer experience. Successful candidates demonstrate deep familiarity with cloud ecosystems and a commitment to ongoing professional development, including both technical expertise and interpersonal skills.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Build and maintain in-depth knowledge of assigned systems, platforms, projects, and functional domains
- Own and manage assigned service requests and incidents to ensure adherence to SLAs and high customer satisfaction
- Provide day-to-day operational support by responding to system alerts and resolving infrastructure incidents
- Act decisively on production-impacting issues and remain accountable until full resolution is achieved
- Deliver high-quality customer support through ticketing systems and direct communication channels, including phone support
- Execute planned maintenance activities such as system upgrades, hardware refreshes, software updates, and patch management
- Administer and support VMware ESXi and comparable virtualization platforms across multiple hardware environments
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hands-on experience administering Linux and/or Windows operating systems in enterprise environments, including virtualization and hyperconverged platforms (e.g., VMware)
- Experience supporting Active Directory and Exchange in large-scale or production environments
- Familiarity with enterprise monitoring tools, including alerting, patch management, and data protection coordination for physical and virtual assets
- Ability to implement and manage basic network virtualization tasks, including NSX firewall rule modifications
- Working knowledge of high-availability architectures, clustering, and fault-tolerant system design
- Understanding of common infrastructure protocols and services such as SMTP, SNMP, SSL, SSH, and DNS
- Foundational knowledge of networking concepts and technologies, including the OSI model
