Role Description The VMCA Governance Analyst is a contract role based in Boston, MA with a hybrid work arrangement, combining on-site presence with some work-from-home flexibility. In this role, the analyst supports governance and oversight of vendor, model, and change activities (VMCA) across investment platforms and related systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining governance frameworks, tracking and documenting changes, coordinating approvals, and ensuring adherence to established policies and controls. The analyst partners with technology, risk, operations, and business stakeholders to monitor key metrics, identify gaps, and support remediation plans. Additional tasks may include preparing governance reports and dashboards, assisting with internal or external audits, contributing to process improvements, and participating in meetings and working groups related to platform governance and risk.


Qualifications

  • Experience with governance, risk, and control frameworks in financial services, preferably within investment management or capital markets.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills, including the ability to interpret policies, standards, and technical change requests and translate them into clear records and reports.
  • Familiarity with vendor management, model governance, or change management processes, including approvals, version control, and audit trails.
  • Proficiency with productivity and collaboration tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, ticketing/workflow systems, or GRC tools).
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, manage multiple priorities, and coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on clarity, accuracy, and consistent use of governance terminology.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Knowledge of investment products, trading workflows, and platforms such as Aladdin, Calypso, Murex, or SimCorp is highly beneficial.
  • Prior experience in consulting, project-based work, or managed services environments is an advantage.
