The Accounting and Finance Department at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University invites applications for a full-time, one-year term position with the possibility of renewal starting in August 2026.

The CSB and SJU accounting and finance program is one of the strongest in Minnesota, particularly in a small liberal arts setting. The department is comprised of nine full-time faculty dedicated to close working relationships with students to enhance not only student academic learning but overall student development. With a total enrollment of approximately 2,900 students, faculty members develop relationships with students in small classroom settings and have opportunities to work closely with students on research projects, experiential learning experiences, and study abroad programs. Recent initiatives to create a dynamic general education curriculum and to develop plans for a new teaching and learning center demonstrate strong institutional support for faculty development.

This position requires a strong knowledge and ability to teach either Auditing or our Accounting Information Systems course, as well as other accounting courses. The candidate will teach 12 credits per semester and participate in department service and student advising. Faculty play a key role in connecting students with internships and jobs at leading CPA firms and organizations by engaging with students and supporting recruiting events. Formal advising is waived during the first year but required thereafter.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in accounting or closely related field (e.g., MBA, MBT, etc.), plus a CPA license in good standing (either active or inactive), OR doctoral degree in accounting or a closely related field. ABDs in accounting-related fields and CPAs with significant professional experience are welcome to apply.
- Interest and ability to effectively teach either auditing or accounting information systems.
- Interest and ability to teach other undergraduate accounting and related courses offered by the Department of Accounting & Finance https://catalog.csbsju.edu/catalog/course-descriptions/acfn/.
- Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Commitment to undergraduate education in a Catholic, Benedictine, residential liberal arts environment.
- Ability and interest in advising students.
- Ability and interest in departmental and student service.
