Visiting Assistant Professor of Practice in Accounting

The Austin College Department of Economics and Business Administration invites applicants for a full-time, non-tenure-track Visiting Assistant Professor of Practice in Accounting beginning August 2026. We seek candidates with a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching. This position will focus on principles of accounting courses, intermediate accounting courses, and electives relevant to departmental needs. Master’s degree in a business-related field and at least 18 graduate credit hours in accounting or related courses are required. This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal.

A successful applicant will teach at least three courses per regular semester focusing on providing students hands-on experiences regarding the tools, techniques, policies, and ethics of accounting. Hiring decisions for the position will be based on applicants’ professional experiences, academic backgrounds, and commitment to undergraduate teaching. We invite applicants to demonstrate in their letter of application ways they can contribute to the department’s desire to continue exemplary accounting training. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to teaching accounting within a liberal arts environment that emphasizes close faculty-student interaction.
