Visiting Assistant Professor of Kinesiology

The Austin College Department of Kinesiology invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Kinesiology beginning in August of 2026.

The Kinesiology Department is seeking an energetic and collaborative Visiting Assistant Professor who holds a doctorate degree (Ph.D., Ed.D. or equivalent) in kinesiology, public health, rehabilitation science, health sciences, or a related and complementary field. This Visiting Assistant Professor position may have the opportunity to convert into a Tenure-Track position upon successful evaluation.

We seek a colleague who can contribute to teaching introductory, intermediate, and advanced courses that support the Kinesiology and Public Health programs, to include foundational courses as well as specialty courses aligned with the candidate’s expertise. We are especially interested in candidates whose specialty courses will support the Kinesiology and Public Health programs at Austin College. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching in a liberal arts environment and an interest in mentoring students with diverse academic and career goals, including those pursuing graduate study and health-related professions.

  • statement of research, no more than one pages
  • a statement reflecting on the composition of our student body and outlining how they would engage all our students in their teaching, scholarship, and/or service.
