About Leon Capital Group

Leon Capital Group (LCG) is a founder-led, diversified holding company with a portfolio exceeding $10 billion in assets across real estate, healthcare, financial services, and technology. Founded in 2006 by Fernando De Leon, LCG operates as a long-term, "buy-and-build" partner to entrepreneurs — investing its own capital alongside business owners to create durable, compounding value.

LCG is actively expanding its financial services investment platform with a dedicated focus on acquiring GP stakes and making equity investments in Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs). This is a ground-floor opportunity to build LCG's RIA investment capability from scratch alongside the firm's senior leadership.

Position Overview

LCG is seeking a Vice President, RIA Investments to lead the sourcing, evaluation, execution, and post-investment management of minority and majority equity investments in RIA firms across the United States. This individual will serve as the primary driver of LCG's RIA investment strategy — responsible for building a disciplined deal process, developing proprietary deal flow, and acting as an active growth partner to LCG's RIA investments post-close.

Key Responsibilities:

Deal Origination & Pipeline Development:

  • Build and maintain a proprietary pipeline of RIA investment opportunities through direct outreach to firm founders and owners, RIA-focused investment bankers, custodians, and industry networks.
  • Develop a systematic approach to sourcing and prioritizing targets across firm size, geography, ownership structure, and growth stage.
  • Represent LCG at industry conferences and events to establish the firm's credibility as a capital partner in the RIA space.

Due Diligence & Investment Evaluation:

  • Lead end-to-end due diligence on prospective RIA investments, including financial analysis (AUM trends, revenue, and EBITDA quality, client concentration, fee structures), operational assessment, team and succession evaluation, and competitive positioning.
  • Build and maintain financial models to evaluate transaction structures, returns, and post-close growth scenarios.
  • Prepare investment memos and present recommendations to senior leadership.

Deal Structuring & Execution:

  • Structure and negotiate investment terms, including minority and majority equity stakes, earnouts, rollover equity, and credit facilities.
  • Manage the full transaction lifecycle from LOI through closing, coordinating with internal and external legal, finance, and operational resources.
  • Develop and implement repeatable deal processes and infrastructure to support LCG's ability to execute consistently at scale.

Post-Investment Partnership & Growth Management:

  • Serve as LCG's primary relationship contact for portfolio RIA firms post-close, supporting leadership teams in executing on their growth plans.
  • Identify and drive inorganic growth opportunities — sub-acquisitions, lift-outs, and strategic partnerships — for LCG's RIA portfolio companies.
  • Monitor portfolio company performance, financial results, and strategic milestones; surface issues and opportunities to LCG senior leadership as appropriate.
  • Leverage LCG's broader platform — including its real estate, private equity, healthcare, and credit capabilities — to create differentiated value for RIA partners.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 8–10+ years of relevant experience in RIA M&A, corporate development, growth equity, or investment banking focused on wealth and asset management.
  • Direct deal execution experience — must have personally sourced, structured, and closed equity investments or M&A transactions in the financial services or wealth management space.
  • Deep understanding of the RIA ecosystem: business models, valuation drivers, custodial platforms, ownership and succession dynamics, and the competitive landscape of capital providers.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills; experience building transaction models and investment memos.
  • Familiarity with deal structures common in RIA investing: minority equity, seller notes, earnouts, management rollover, and credit facilities.
  • Existing network of relationships with RIA owners, wealth management M&A advisors, and/or custodial platforms is a strong plus.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-directed, and comfortable building from scratch in a founder-led, fast-moving environment.
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred.

Ideal Background:

Candidates typically come from one or more of the following:

  • Corporate development or M&A teams at RIA consolidators, aggregators, or multi-billion-dollar wealth management platforms.
  • RIA-focused growth equity or private equity investment firms.
  • Sell-side investment banking with a focus on wealth and asset management M&A.
  • Senior operator roles inside RIA firms with direct exposure to M&A and strategic partnerships.
