Flexible, Part-Time Position: Vice President, People Operations – San Francisco, CA. 25 Hours Per Week. Schedule to be co-designed subject to candidate needs.
Compensation & Benefits: $150k, subject to experience, and carried interest across multiple funds. Full benefits (including 100% employer contribution on health insurance). Ability to invest fee-free, carry-free in TCG’s funds.
Background: Tobin Capital Group (TCG) is a Stanford Graduate School of Business-founded, tech-enabled real estate private equity firm and operating company. TCG’s current AUM is $550M. TCG owns and operates 66 locations across six states and two business lines. TCG is raising its second fund ($250M, acquiring $625M of real estate) and aims to 5x its real estate portfolio within five years.

TCG is Committed to Providing the Vice President:
- End-to-End People Operations Ownership: As the first dedicated People Operations hire, you will have ownership over the design and implementation of TCG’s People Operations Strategy and Playbook.
- Mentorship: You will receive recurring, structured formal mentorship and feedback from the CEO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and Implement People Ops Strategy: Lead our holistic People Operations Strategy that maximizes the success, satisfaction, and wellbeing of our team and builds upon our culture of kindness. Create a workplace that actively encourages all ideas, questions, and feedback (positive and negative).
- Design Performance & Development Program: Collaborate with the CEO and Accounting, Acquisitions, and Operations heads to create a world-class performance evaluation strategy and career development track.
- Manage Employee Operations: Onboarding, offboarding, employee record management, and benefits.
- Oversee Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. Responsible for TCG’s handbook, PTO/Sick time policies, HR documentation, and safety plans.
- Be a Culture Carrier: Celebrate and support team culture. Serve as a trusted liaison for employees.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree. Major Agnostic, Emphasis on Demonstrated Excellence.
- Experience: 7-9 years of work experience. Specific background agnostic. Emphasis on soft skills and character.
