Position: Vice President, Operations – San Francisco, CA. Mandatory 5 Days in Office.

Compensation & Benefits: Up to $300k cash and up to $2M carried interest, subject to experience. Full benefits (including 100% employer contribution on health insurance). Ability to invest fee-free, carry-free in TCG’s funds. Generous PTO policy, including firm-wide closures the week of the Fourth of July and between Christmas & New Year’s.


Background: Tobin Capital Group (TCG) is a Stanford Graduate School of Business-founded, tech-enabled real estate operating company and private equity firm. TCG owns and operates $540M of real estate across 67 locations, six states, and two business lines. The firm is raising its second fund ($250M, acquiring $625M of real estate) and aims to 5x its real estate portfolio within 5 years including expansion into new verticals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create Value: Leverage your judgement and work ethic to create value throughout the business line you lead and strive for continuous improvement of the Operations Playbook.
  • Lead Corporate Operations Team: Lead an Operations Team consisting of 1-2 analysts and an associate as your direct reports and provide your team with ongoing training, performance feedback, weekly 1:1s, and mentorship.
  • Own Front-Line People Operations Strategy: Lead the hiring, training & continuing education program, monthly meetings, and career development for 25+ Front-Line Team Members.
  • Be a Culture Carrier: Nurture our Culture of Care and bring joy to everything you do.
  • Drive Team Performance: Leverage creative incentive programs and engagement strategies to maximize Front-Line Team Member performance, satisfaction, and engagement.
  • Create Operational Efficiency: Evaluate areas of inefficiency and deploy innovative solutions to continue to drive operational improvements that support outsized property performance.
  • Scale Processes for Rapid Growth: Redesign and improve processes to operate at scale and support rapid portfolio expansion during deployment of Fund II, Fund III, and Fund IV.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree. Major Agnostic, Emphasis on Demonstrated Excellence.
  • Experience: 7-9 years of work experience. Real estate experience is not required. Culture and character fit is valued above industry experience. Prior hires have come from varied backgrounds including manufacturing, military, pharmaceuticals, consumer packaged goods, public utilities, defense contracting, non-profit, and finance.
