đź§­ Position Summary

We are seeking a Vice President of Engineering to set and execute the technical vision for a high‑growth, PE‑backed software platform serving the live events industry. Reporting directly to the CTO, this executive leader brings deep architectural expertise and a proven record of engineering excellence at scale, having guided teams through major platform evolution and organizational growth.


The VP of Engineering will own delivery performance, engineering culture, and architectural integrity across a pod‑based Salesforce engineering organization. You’ll partner closely with the CTO to shape the long‑term technical roadmap, ensuring the platform is scalable, resilient, and positioned for continued growth, acquisitions, and multi‑brand convergence.

This is a highly visible leadership role with direct impact on product velocity, system reliability, and team effectiveness.


🎯 Key Responsibilities

  • 🏗 Own engineering delivery, team health, and organizational performance across a pod‑based structure covering Scheduling, Event Execution, Payroll & Invoicing, Pricing & Quoting, Mobile, and QA
  • đź§  Define and enforce architecture standards across service design, API strategy, scalability, latency, and reliability
  • � Lead engineering excellence initiatives, including SDLC maturity, code quality standards, CI/CD (Gearset), sandbox governance, and test automation (AccelQ)
  • 🤝 Partner with the CTO on platform architecture, technical debt strategy, pattern evaluation, and build vs. buy vs. configure decisions
  • 👥 Recruit, develop, and retain senior engineering talent while fostering a high‑performance, accountable engineering culture
  • 🚨 Act as the primary escalation point for cross‑pod delivery risks, architectural decisions, and engineering blockers
  • 🔄 Drive engineering insourcing and organizational stabilization, including onboarding and integrating transitioning engineers
  • 🌍 Manage offshore QA resources and third‑party integration partners in coordination with the CTO
  • 📊 Contribute to PE board‑level reporting on engineering capacity, velocity, scalability, and roadmap progress
  • 🔗 Lead engineering workstreams supporting acquisition integrations and multi‑brand platform convergence


✅ Required Qualifications

  • 10–15+ years of progressive technical experience, with significant time in senior engineering leadership roles (Director, VP, or equivalent)
  • Strong Salesforce platform expertise, including Apex, LWC, integrations, and data modeling (hands‑on background required)
  • Demonstrated success leading engineering teams at scale in complex, cross‑functional environments
  • Deep expertise in Salesforce architecture and system design, including APIs, scalability, latency, reliability, and design pattern evaluation
  • Proven experience maturing engineering excellence practices: SDLC, agile delivery, CI/CD, code quality, and QA automation
  • Experience leading organizational change, including insourcing or transitioning engineering teams from third‑party vendors
  • Executive‑level communication skills with comfort presenting technical strategy to C‑suite, board, and PE stakeholders


⭐ Preferred Qualifications

  • Salesforce certifications (Application Architect, System Architect, or equivalent)
  • Background in HCM, staffing, workforce management, or labor compliance platforms
  • Experience in PE‑backed, high‑growth, or multi‑brand technology environments
  • Familiarity with live events, entertainment, sports, media, or production industries
  • Experience managing distributed and offshore engineering teams across multiple time zones
