LeadingAge Minnesota Solutions (LMS) is a wholly owned, for-profit subsidiary dedicated to developing business arrangements and programs that provide cost savings to senior care providers. As Vice President of LeadingAge MN Solutions (LMS), you will lead the growth and operations of the organization’s for-profit subsidiary focused on group purchasing, insurance programs, and strategic vendor partnerships that deliver cost savings and operational value to members. In this executive leadership role, you will drive strategy, cultivate vendor and member relationships, and expand business opportunities that strengthen aging services, long-term care, assisted living, and community-based care providers throughout Minnesota.

What you’ll need to thrive:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Public Administration, or related field with 10+ years of progressive experience in healthcare, senior living, long-term care, group purchasing, or insurance program management; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
  • Ability to obtain a Minnesota Insurance Producer License.
  • Experience with vendor contracting, strategic partnerships, and group purchasing organizations (GPOs) in the aging services or healthcare industry is preferred.
  • Solid communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage executive leadership, vendors, members, and boards of directors.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and provide leadership to staff.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Willingness to travel regularly for member engagement, vendor partnerships, industry conferences, and strategic initiatives.


What you’ll do as the Vice President for LeadingAge MN Solutions (LMS):


Strategic Planning/Identification of Opportunities

  • Serve as the lead staff for the LMS Board of Directors;
  • Develop strategic plans for LMS that ensure stability and growth as well as continued benefit to members;
  • Work with the LMS Board, develop an annual budget for LMS that supports long-term goals and day-to-day operations;
  • Analyze outcomes for all entities and recommend strategies to maximize growth.


Management of Daily Operations

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of LMS;
  • Determine staffing needs and deploy staff and resources necessary to achieve organizational goals;
  • Ensure LMS complies with applicable laws and regulations;
  • Provide oversight and development of direct staff reports.


Development of Vendor and Member Relationships

  • Leverage relationships within the LeadingAge MN membership to increase sales and identify opportunities to promote existing vendors and contract with new vendors;
  • Work with contracted vendors to develop and implement strategies to gain market share;
  • Actively solicit member participation in vendor agreements;
  • Manage relationships with vendor partners;
  • Develop and foster goodwill with potential and existing vendors;
  • Provide oversight and direction of RFPs and subsequent negotiations with vendors;
  • Develop, maintain, and leverage relationships with strategic partners.


Support of LeadingAge MN

  • Attend and participate in LeadingAge MN meetings, programs, and events, as needed;
  • Attend LeadingAge MN Board meetings, as requested;
  • Provide support to LeadingAge MN CEO, as needed;
  • Participate in senior staff meetings, as requested by the CEO;
  • Other duties and tasks, as assigned.
