A growing real estate investment and property management firm based in Westchester County is seeking a VP Finance / Controller to lead a full transformation of its finance function.
This is a high-impact opportunity to rebuild the accounting team, streamline systems, and implement best-in-class processes and controls across a diverse portfolio of multifamily and mixed-use assets.
The Role
The VP Finance / Controller will take ownership of the finance and accounting function during a critical period of change and growth.
This role will lead a full rebuild of the accounting team (currently ~10 reports), oversee the consolidation of multiple accounting systems into a single platform by year-end, and establish scalable processes and controls to support continued expansion.
The successful candidate will operate as both a strategic partner and hands-on leader—bringing structure, accountability, and clarity to the financial operations while supporting executive decision-making and long-term business performance.

Candidate Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
10–15 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with strong real estate exposure
Proven track record of building or rebuilding finance teams
Experience leading system implementations or major ERP transformations
Hands-on, solutions-driven leader comfortable operating in a changing environment
Strong communicator with a confident and personable approach
Preferred Experience
Experience within real estate investment, development, or property management environments
Background in process improvement, controls implementation, or finance transformation
CPA or similar professional certification
