Help us build a better Wells Fargo. It all begins with outstanding talent. It all begins with you.

Corporate & Investment Banking delivers a comprehensive suite of capital markets, banking, and financial products and services. A trusted partner to our clients, we provide corporate and transactional banking; commercial real estate lending and servicing; investment banking; equity; and fixed income solutions including sales, trading, and research capabilities to corporate, commercial real estate, government, and institutional clients across the globe.

Commercial Real Estate (CRE) is part of Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB), one of five CEO-led businesses for Wells Fargo. CRE operates globally to deliver a comprehensive platform of financing and banking products for experienced commercial real estate companies including balance sheet lending, CMBS origination and distribution, loan servicing, agency financing for multifamily properties, and debt and equity capital for affordable housing. In addition to being the #1 CRE lender in the U.S., Wells Fargo CRE has also earned other notable accolades, including being the #1 Affordable Housing Lender and the #1 Commercial Mortgage Servicer.

The Hospitality Finance Group (HFG) is a specialty lending division within Wells Fargo’s Commercial Real Estate lending platform that provides financial products and services to leading hotel owners throughout the US, the UK and Canada.  HFG team members focus exclusively on the lodging sector.  Target customers include large, well-capitalized private owner/operators, institutional real estate funds dedicated to lodging investments, and both public and private hotel REITs and C-Corps. Our underwriting analyzes People/Credit/Real Estate.  Lending activities emphasize interim refinancing of stabilized hotel properties that are leaders in their competitive set, hotel acquisition and repositioning loans, and, on a very selective basis, hotel construction and redevelopment financing.

The Commercial Real Estate Relationship Manager 3 within HFG will manage all aspects of client relationships with key sources of loan demand and will actively participate in structuring loans and preparing recommendations with senior management.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Deepening existing HFG client relationships, and identifying and establishing high potential new relationships with leading hotel owners while maintaining client knowledge and confidence to ‘deliver the firm’
  • Sourcing new hotel financing opportunities for the balance sheet including acquisition, bridge, term, renovation/repositioning and construction loans
  • Preparing internal deal memorandums, recommend loan structures and draft formal term sheets
  • Preparing internal memorandum and recommendations regarding loan modifications and new loan opportunities for senior management and credit partners
  • Preparing or supervising preparation of detailed financial reviews of HFG sponsors and prospects
  • Collaborating with the HFG underwriting team to complete comprehensive hotel collateral underwriting, including cash flow projections, comp set evaluation, market analyses and supply/demand/penetration assessments
  • Proactively managing loan portfolio to identify and mitigate risk; includes review of monthly operating information and STR reports, and preparation of quarterly relationship and loan reports on CRE’s proprietary PRT system
  • Reviewing and negotiating loan agreements, review third party agreements and ancillary documents related to the closing and administration of a transaction
  • Understanding HFG client needs to identify Wells Fargo products and services for cross sell; working with relationship managers in other regions or groups as well as introducing product partners to deliver a broad array of non-credit products and services
  • Working with senior management to develop growth strategies by providing valuable insight on prospecting and business development
  • Mentoring and coaching junior relationship managers and analysts

Employees support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions.
