Mackenzie Stuart have been engaged by a leading Real Estate firm who are looking for a Vice President of Asset Management to join their team and lead the performance of their senior housing portfolio.


The Vice President of Asset Management will oversee a portfolio of senior housing assets spanning multiple geographies and operating partners, responsible for driving financial performance, capital efficiency, and strategic execution across the platform.


Responsibilities

  • Drive same-property NOI growth, margin expansion, and cash flow optimization across the portfolio.
  • Oversee revenue strategy, rate management, discount governance, and contract mix optimization.
  • Allocate capital to highest-return opportunities across unit upgrades, repositionings, expansions, and amenity enhancements.
  • Oversee major renovation and repositioning projects in coordination with operators and internal construction management teams.
  • Maintain a disciplined operator governance framework, including performance reviews, reporting standards, and budget approvals.
  • Negotiate and administer incentive-aligned management agreements.
  • Lead operator transitions when required, including due diligence, onboarding, and stabilization.
  • Lead underwriting and execution of value-enhancing capital investments.
  • Evaluate market dynamics, supply trends, and demand indicators affecting portfolio performance.


Qualifications

  • 10+ years of real estate investment, asset or portfolio management experience, senior housing exposure preferred
  • Comfortable navigating management and operating agreements, joint venture structures, financing arrangements, and lease instruments.
  • Strong financial modelling skills, including forecasting, stress-testing assumptions, variance tracking, and sizing return implications of capital decisions.
  • Fluent working across disciplines - operations, finance, legal, tax, development, and investment teams.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills; familiarity with BI or portfolio reporting platforms is a plus.
  • MBA, CFA, or equivalent advanced credential preferred; demonstrated expertise will be considered.


This role reports to senior leadership within the Investment Management platform. Regular travel to portfolio assets is expected and essential to this position.
