Emergency & Critical Care Supervisor – Day Shift Veterinary Specialty Hospital (VSH) is seeking a Daytime Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) Supervisor to support the clinical and administrative operations of our ECC department. This role partners closely with the Hospital Service Manager to ensure high-quality patient care, efficient workflow, and a positive experience for both clients and team members. As an ECC Supervisor, you will serve as a key clinical resource and operational support for the daytime team—helping coordinate staffing, support team development, and maintain strong communication across departments while ensuring safe, compassionate, and timely patient care. Salary 70,000 - 79,000/Annually Key Responsibilities Clinical & Operational Support
Support daily operations of the Emergency and Critical Care department to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care
Ensure appropriate staffing levels of support staff to meet patient care and workflow demands
Maintain awareness of department workflow and patient volume to proactively address operational needs
Assist with coordinating patient flow and interdepartmental communication to support timely care delivery
Serve as a clinical and operational resource for staff during assigned shifts
Monitor patient care and client service standards to ensure a consistent, positive experience
Identify operational challenges and collaborate on practical solutions to improve efficiency and team performance
Team Leadership & Staff Support
Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and support to ECC team members
Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and mutual respect
Assist with onboarding, training, and skill development for new and existing staff
Promote open communication and support a positive, collaborative work environment
Recognize team achievements and support performance feedback and development conversations
Participate in hiring, performance management, and employee engagement initiatives
Communication & Collaboration
Partner with the Hospital Service Manager and leadership team to support departmental goals and operational priorities
Communicate effectively with clinical teams, client care teams, and hospital leadership to ensure alignment and continuity of care
Facilitate communication across departments to support coordinated patient care and efficient hospital operations
Escalate operational or patient care concerns appropriately and in a timely manner
Resource & Equipment Support
Monitor equipment functionality and communicate service or maintenance needs
Support safe handling and appropriate use of medical equipment and supplies
Assist in maintaining readiness of the department to meet patient care demands
About You
RVT or VTS preferred, but not required
Previous experience in Emergency and Critical Care strongly preferred
Demonstrated ability to support and guide team members in a fast-paced clinical environment
Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and remain calm under pressure
Comfortable working collaboratively across departments
Basic mathematical and analytical skills to support staffing, workflow, and operational decision-making
