This role focuses on fitting and fabricating vessels and shell plate to construct water towers, storage tanks, and pressure vessels using blueprints and detailed drawings. You will independently lay out, fit up, and weld primarily structural components using flux core processes, ensuring accurate orientation and degrees of the vessel. The position requires strong blueprint interpretation, precise measurements, and hands-on fabrication skills in an industrial shop environment.
Responsibilities
You will join a production environment where hands-on skills are valued and there is room to grow your expertise with specialized equipment such as structural steel machinery and material-handling systems. The rotating shift structure offers the opportunity to experience different schedules, with additional compensation when working nights. You will work alongside experienced tradespeople in a setting that rewards reliability, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.
Work Environment
This position is based in a non-climate-controlled industrial fabrication facility focused on structural steel, vessels, and tanks. You will work around heavy equipment, welding operations, cutting torches, and large steel components, following strict safety procedures and using appropriate personal protective equipment. The role follows a rotating shift schedule: you will begin on day shift for approximately six months, then move to night shift for about 2 to 4 months, and then rotate back to days for another six months. Day shift typically runs Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with Saturdays as needed, while second shift generally runs Monday through Friday from 4:15 p.m. to 2:45 a.m. A shift differential is provided when working the second shift.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $27.50 - $29.00/hr.
