Job Description:
As an ASIC IP Verification Infrastructure Engineer (Contractor), you will maintain and optimize the critical automation frameworks that power our design verification flow. Based preferably in Austin, you will work with a high degree of independence under the guidance of a Technical Lead to streamline build flows, manage massive compute/storage resources, and modernize our environment with AI-assisted tools. This role is pivotal in bridging our global operations, requiring seamless collaboration with our core Infrastructure team in India while providing dedicated support to the US/Canada verification teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Autonomy: Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks under the strategic guidance of a Technical Lead.
- Version Control & Repository Management: Deep understanding of Git and Perforce (P4). Expertise in managing complex repository structures, branching strategies, and syncing large IP blocks across multi-site environments.
- EDA & Debug: Extensive experience with Synopsys VCS and Verdi for logic simulation and waveform analysis.
- Infrastructure & Build: Strong background in developing and maintaining hardware build flows using GNU Make or similar automation tools.
- CI/CD: Proven experience implementing hardware-specific Jenkins or GitLab CI pipelines for automated regression and linting.
- Scripting Mastery: Highly proficient in Python, Perl, and Shell (Bash/TCSH) for environment setup and data processing.
- Compute & Storage: Practical experience managing job schedulers (e.g., LSF, Slurm) and optimizing high-performance storage/disk space for large simulation environments.
- Project & Data Tools: Proficiency in JIRA and Confluence for workflow management and PowerBI for tracking verification metrics and regression health.
Nice-to-Have (Bonus Skills):
- Web Development: Proficiency in HTML and web-based development for creating internal tools, report viewers, or status dashboards.
- AI-Assisted Development: Familiarity with AI coding agents and productivity tools such as Cline, Codex, or Genie to accelerate workflow development.
- AI/ML Workflows: Interest or experience in implementing AI-driven log triaging, predictive regression analysis, or automated code generation.
- Advanced Scripting: Experience with Ruby scripting for legacy or specialized infrastructure support.
- Data Systems: Basic understanding of SQL for querying and managing historical regression data.
