Radar Test Engineer
Location: 100% Onsite in Foster City, CA | 5 days in office
Duration: 6 month assignment - Contract extension potential
Pay: Negotiable depending on direct related experience UP to $60 - $65/an hour
Type: W2 contract (C2C OR THIRD-PARTY arrangements will NOT be considered)
Responsibilities:
- Schedule and coordinate structured and unstructured vehicle testing
- Perform radar firmware validation and next-generation radar evaluation
- Take full ownership of radar and sensor data analysis: directly extract, interpret, and report on test and validation results to drive engineering decisions
- Develop detailed technical validation reports and effectively communicate findings
- Follow up on the logistics and arrangement of test campaigns
- Handle warranty returns to radar suppliers
- Assist with thermal testing to validate new trim and enclosures
- Develop radar test setups—including gimbal and test automation scripts
Required Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree with 2+ years of relevant experience
- Proven, hands-on experience analyzing radar and sensor data (not just in a supporting capacity, but owning extraction, interpretation, and reporting of test/validation outcomes)
- Strong experience with Linux systems and Ethernet networks
- Organized mindset with strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Scripting experience with Python or similar automation tools
- Prior exposure to testing autonomous vehicle hardware systems
- Experience summarizing and presenting technical findings based on data analysis
