Job Duties:
The Virginia Beach Fire Department is looking for a Media and Graphic Design Intern for Summer 2026.

Schedule & Hours:
Candidates typical work week will be 30 hours per week for a 3-6 months long internship. Flexibility for school schedules is allowed. The applicant is responsible to provide their own housing and transportation to and from work during the internship.
Expected Duration:
June 2026 – August 2026 (3-6 months long depending on department needs and student schedules).
Required Education:
Candidates pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphics Design, Business Administration, or related field.

Minimum Requirements:
Minimums: Must be at least 15 years of age and eligible for appropriate working permits. Must be a currently enrolled student (in an associate's, bachelor's, master's degree or PhD program) and be in good academic standing as determined by the school, college, or university. Candidates pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphics Design, Business Administration, or related field.

Please Note: The City will not provide housing or transportation for the internship opportunities. The applicant is responsible for providing their own transportation to work and housing during the internship.
VRS Contribution: All full-time employees are required to contribute 5% of annual salary toward their retirement account; in accordance with VRS retirement provisions. This will be handled through a pre-tax payroll deduction.
