Inova Schar Heart & Vascular is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Vascular Surgeon to join our expanding, nationally recognized team of surgeons within a high-volume, multidisciplinary practice serving Northern Virginia’s broad and growing catchment area.

Vascular Surgeon Job Responsibilities:
Schedule: Clinic / Operating room / Hospital consults
Call Requirement:
Weekend call (local and primary for the system)
Weekday call
Clinical Care:
Clinic – weekly outpatient clinics
Surgical – opportunity to grow a robust practice
Participate in a growing diagnostic vascular lab system
Support:
Vascular attendings in collaborative group
Outpatient APP staff in care team
Inpatient PA staff in hospital
Vascular surgery fellows as integrated with the Military Fellowship
Surgical residents on a dedicated vascular team
Administrative structure in place
Vascular lab system – multiple labs with growing volumes
Interventional Radiology – collaboration to optimize patient care
Hybrid room technology
Procedural Experience:
All facets of vascular therapy
Aortic
Carotid
Lower extremity
Venous disease – superficial and deep
Dialysis access
Wound Centers and HBO program
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Doctor of Medicine degree from an accredited institution.
Experience: successful completion of ACGME residency training in General Surgery and subsequent fellowship with ABS board certification or board eligibility in Vascular Surgery
Licensure: Current unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Virginia.
Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) or ACLS upon start.
Payer Credentialing: Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors and Ability to enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor
Medical Staff Credentialing: Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with both open and endovascular therapy
Interest in education and teaching
Interest in Vascular research
