Beacon Academy seeks a dynamic and engaging Head Cross Country Coach for the 2026 Fall Season. Regular season practices begin early August and take place Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 4-6 PM with meets scheduled throughout the week and on Saturdays.
Experience and Skills:
• Previous coaching experience working with athletes of varying skill levels, from beginner to advanced.
• Strong knowledge of track and field events, techniques, and training methods.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and execute balanced and effective training programs catered to individuals of various abilities across multiple disciplines, particularly in distance and sprint events.
• Conduct productive practice sessions focusing on skill development, strength and conditioning, and competitive readiness.
• Create and maintain a flexible yet positive environment by fostering a culture of teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
• Establish clear lines of communication with athletes, parents, and school administrators regarding practice schedules, meet information, and any relevant updates.
• Monitor athletes’ progress throughout the season and adjust training as necessary to maximize performance.
• Strong listening and problem solving skills with ability to adapt to changes in scheduling, training, and various aspects in a student-athlete’s schedule.
• Patient and supportive nature, with the ability to motivate athletes and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.
