Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and mechanically inclined Valve Technician to perform inspection, repair, testing, and assembly of industrial valves and related equipment. This role supports customers in industries such as oil & gas, chemical, power generation, and manufacturing. The ideal candidate has hands‑on mechanical experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work safely in a shop environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble a wide range of industrial valves, including:
    • Control valves
    • Pressure relief valves
    • Gate, globe, ball, and check valves
  • Perform valve testing, calibration, and certification according to industry standards
  • Document inspection findings, repair steps, and test results accurately
  • Clean, sandblast, and prepare valve components as needed
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, torque equipment, and test benches safely
  • Read and interpret technical manuals, repair procedures, and customer specifications
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Assist with field service work as needed (if applicable)
  • Follow all safety policies, including PPE requirements and lockout/tagout procedures

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a valve technician, industrial mechanic, or similar mechanical role
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and repair instructions
  • Familiarity with precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks

This is a Permanent position based out of Joliet, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
