A well-established automotive dealership in the Charlotte and Raleigh market is looking to add a Used Vehicle Buyer / Director of Acquisitions to our team. This role is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience with used vehicle sourcing or inventory decisions and is ready for a position with greater ownership, stability, and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and acquire used vehicles through auctions, dealer networks, trade-ins, and direct-buy channels
  • Analyze market trends, pricing data, and vehicle values to make informed purchasing decisions
  • Determine retail vs wholesale strategy for acquired inventory
  • Manage vehicle flow to maximize turn and profitability
  • Monitor aging inventory and market performance
  • Coordinate with management, sales, and operations teams to align inventory with dealership goals
  • Oversee disposition of non-retail vehicles through auctions or dealer-to-dealer channels
  • Ensure accurate documentation, titles, and compliance related to acquisitions



Qualifications & Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Used Vehicle Buyer, Acquisition Manager, Wholesale Manager, or Used Car Manager is required
  • Proven background in used vehicle sourcing, valuation, and inventory management
  • Proven ability to manage inventory performance and profitability
  • Analytical mindset with strong negotiation skills
  • Organized, decisive, and comfortable working independently
  • Experience in high-volume dealership or dealer group environments preferred
