Wilson Community College is looking for instructors (English, Math, Science) for the Summer 2026 TRiO Upward Bound Summer Experience Program at Wilson Community College in Wilson, NC and Residential Program at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC.
Under the direction of the Upward Bound Coordinator, the instructor will design and facilitate engaging lesson plans in targeted subject area for Upward Bound students entering grades 10-12. Instructors will teach, motivate, and encourage students while ensuring they are well prepared for the courses they will take during the academic school year. Responsible for developing curriculum, providing engaging classroom instruction in assigned subject area, tutoring, evaluating student progress, and meeting regularly with Upward Bound staff.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of principles and practices of PC’s, Internet, and e-mail. Knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to execute general office, interpersonal, problem solving and time management skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Completion of a bachelor's degree in Educational subject area.
At least one year of teaching experience at the high school level.
Demonstrates knowledge of best practices in teaching and the ability to develop and deliver engaging lesson plans to high school students preparing for college.
