Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is now hiring for a Unit Managerin the Medical SurgicalUnit who will be responsible for managing Assistant Unit Managers, Registered Nurses and related support staff. This position oversees the day-to-day unit operations, assumes 24-hour responsibility, and has full responsibility for budgetary management and oversight. Unit Managers will supervise and direct the work of others; assign, review, and evaluate, work of assigned nursing and support staff; prepare and/or sign work performance evaluations; handle disciplinary and hiring and firing actions; prepare schedules and approve time off.

The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a comprehensive stroke center, level I trauma center and a freestanding in-patient behavioral health center. Pre-Employment Process:Incumbentsmust pass a background investigation, which includes fingerprinting, work history and education verification, as well as a job-related physical exam and drug screening.
Availability: Twenty-four (24) hour responsibility, on-call and call-back may be required.
Certifications: Must maintain necessary certifications and complete on-going educational units/certifications required for assigned areas of responsibility.

Candidates must possess ALLof the following, experience may be concurrent:One (1) year of experience as a full-scope supervisor or lead/ charge nurse over professional nursing staff.
OPTION 2:Two (2) years of experience as a Relief Charge Nurse or Relief House Supervisor at ARMC
SUBSTITUTION:Three (3) additional years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a Medical-Surgical Unit at an acute care hospital may substitute for the required supervisory/ charge nurse experience.
