Salary: $13.00/hr.The candidate should be in a degree plan for entrance into the environmental or public health and food safety field. They would work under the supervision of the Health Official or his staff to learn and assist in inspections of food establishments, swimming pools, daycares and other areas of environmental health and food safety.

- All behaviors comply with the Code of Conduct and Rules of Behavior outlined in Chapter 8 of the General Government Policies and Procedures Manual.
- (All drivers with necessity) Drive to and from destinations as assigned by supervisor.
- Conduct inspections at food establishments according to City Health ordinances and the Texas Food Establishment Rules under the direction of Registered Sanitarians.
- Conduct inspections on swimming pools/spas under the direction of Registered Sanitarians.
- Update public information for use on the City's Health and Vector Control websites, coordinate activities with the Department web site administrator.
- Revise inspection forms for the Health Division as assigned.
- Research topical issues and best practices in the field of public health as assigned; provide support to the Health Official or other employees of the Department responsible for preparing ordinances related to public health.

- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATIONHigh School Diploma or GED
Currently enrolled in a college or university with a degree plan that prepares the student for a career in public health/food safety or environmental health.
EXPERIENCENo experience necessary.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATESPossession of a valid driver's license.
WORK SCHEDULEMonday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
