Vascular/Echo Ultrasound Technologist

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Vascular/Echo Ultrasound Technologist to perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures using high-frequency sound waves to support accurate clinical assessments. In this role, you will follow established protocols to produce high-quality vascular and cardiac images, while ensuring exceptional patient care and safety.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a compassionate bedside manner, with the ability to adapt communication across diverse patient populations.
Key Responsibilities
Perform vascular and echocardiography sonographic studies in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, and clinical protocols.
Produce consistent, high-quality diagnostic images with a strong understanding of normal and pathological anatomy.
Conduct a variety of studies, including (but not limited to):
Upper and lower extremity arterial studies
Bilateral carotid studies
Venous duplex studies
Renal and aortic duplex imaging
Ensure patient comfort and safety by effectively communicating instructions and adapting to age-specific needs.
Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment; perform routine quality control checks and report equipment issues.
Utilize Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) for documentation, imaging workflow, and data management.
Maintain accurate records, including cleaning logs and equipment documentation.
Collaborate effectively with radiologists, cardiologists, supervisors, and team members across departments.
Follow infection control protocols and maintain sterile techniques when required.
Support departmental operations and take on additional duties as assigned based on competency and credentials.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
1+ year of clinical experience in echocardiography and vascular studies
OR completion of an accredited sonography program with minimum 6 months of clinical rotations
Ability to independently perform diagnostic studies to clinical standards
Basic computer and typing skills
Certification:
RDCS or RCS (Cardiac) AND RVT or RVS (Vascular)
BCLS (Basic Life Support Certification)
Preferred Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related healthcare field
2+ years of experience in vascular and/or echocardiography imaging
Experience with imaging equipment such as GE, Philips, Parks Flo Lab, or Unetixs
Experience working with PACS and RIS systems
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Multilingual abilities
